Today’s WordPress Bloganuary prompt asks, “What is the most memorable gift you have received?“
When I think about it, the smallest, simplest gift comes to mind. To most people, it may look like any other child’s toy. But to me, it holds so much more meaning to it. And that’s what makes it so memorable. Read on to learn more about the most memorable gift I have received.

The most memorable gift I received is a teddy bear when I was about three or four years old. It is about seven inches tall and five inches wide. The plush, teddy bear is all white with red, velvet paws and a matching bowtie. Also, the teddy bear holds a red, velvet heart at its core.
I received the teddy bear from my parents’ close friend, Jimmy. He was part of their high school group of friends and they always hung out. Even after graduating, my parents and Jimmy stayed in each other’s lives. They were so involved with each other’s lives, my parents asked him to be my God uncle. And that’s why I named the little white teddy bear after him — I called it Uncle Jimmy.
I took the teddy bear everywhere with me. And as a child, I would have conversations with the teddy bear. My sister thought it was weird to have full-on conversations with an inanimate object. But to me, it was like having personal conversations with my God uncle. Looking back now, it probably helped me cope with certain things as a child.
Unfortunately, Jimmy suddenly passed away due to a motorcycle accident. But to this day, I still have the teddy bear sitting on the top shelf of my childhood closet in my parents’ house.
